I asked  black men what it is they love most about black women. To my delight, their answers did not disappoint.

“To me black women embody everything right with the world. I was raised by black women, I married a black woman and some of my best friends are black women. I love black women because they are strong, caring and always know when to inject humor into the most trying situations. There is a sense of calm that black women have that I’ve always strived to obtain.”

“Why do I love black women? What is there NOT to love? A couple of sentences won’t do justice as to why I love black women, but I’ll try my best to be brief. From my grandmothers, mother, aunts and sisters in Christ, I was able to experience the beauty of unconditional love looks like from a black woman in the most beautiful, pure form. I’m talking about picking you up when you’re down, getting you on track when you’re off – getting you right when you’re wrong. It is the mental and emotional stability that a virtuous black woman can provide for a black man in an unkind world that is unique to a black woman. In a black woman I see what God meant when he said “It is not good for the man to be alone” and I am eternally grateful for that because through that very blessing I am married to a strong, beautiful black woman. I show my appreciation through the way that I love and adore her.”

“Why do I love black women? For one, I came from a Black Woman, my Mother and I love her. My entire experience and understanding of true love comes from her first.I love a Black Woman’s resilience, her commitment, and determination. Her ability to not only shoulder her burdens, but the burdens of all of her family and society, because of all of that, Black Women throughout the existence of humankind have proven themselves to be the strongest group of people on this Earth. I am what I am today because of a strong Black Woman, all of my progress and success in my life has been because of the sacrifices of a Black Woman. So the very least I can do is return that same amount of love and energy back into my own people, and that’s to give it to a Black Woman.”

“I love black women (more specifically my wife) because of their ambition, passion, and virtues. Once you earn a good black woman’s trust there is no end to the support and encouragement you will feel. Black women are some of the toughest and resilient people will you will meet while still having the ability to be nurturing, sweet, and loving. I love my black woman!”

“Black men love black women because even when we don’t ask for it, they are always our safety net. As a black man, having the privilege to be born from a black woman gives us an innate responsibility to be the best versions of ourselves. Black women are the most resilient and are never given their credit to the mainstream world. The black woman is the most influential being in the world and without them black men couldn’t exist and for that we should thank them everyday for giving us life.”

“I love black women because my first experience of love was through a black woman. The love my mother showed me was a love she showed any and everyone including my father. Whether or not they were deserving of it , that did not stop her from loving wholly and fully despite the tolls of life. That is only a strength and love that can come from a black woman. I’ve pledged my love to black women ever since.”
