Luke 13:1-9, There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down. One of the main focal points of being a true Disciple of Christ, is always remembering to be a positive example of what true salvation means in the Lord Jesus. The parable of the fig tree is symbolic of the House of Israel, who rejected the Gospel of Yeshua/Jesus Christ as the Messiah but instead chose religion over the Lamb of God. Jehovah God in return rejected the Hebrew people scattering them across the nations for their failure to receive God's only means of salvation for mankind. This same parable can also represent the modern day Christian Believer who holds no true knowledge of the Word of God. Being a true testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, will always bring forth righteous fruit that can in return be used to feed those who are hungry for the Lord. These "fruits," manifest in the Christians natural life and testify of the love and grace that God has for all who will except His only way for salvation. These fruits are stated in 2 Peter 1:5-9, "And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith(belief in the Cross) virtue(moral excellence); and to virtue knowledge(of the scriptures); And to knowledge temperance(self control); and to temperance patience(waiting on the Lord); and to patience godliness(conscious of God's will); And to godliness brotherly kindness(treating all as you would want to be treated); and to brotherly kindness charity(Love). For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins." These characteristics will follow the Believer and show of the saving Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is only made possible by placing our Faith only and solely in the Cross of Jesus Christ, who will in return grant us His Holy Spirit who will nourish the seed of Faith we have sown in Jesus Christ as read in Roman chp 8. I pray all will take the time to water their "tree,"(spiritual man) with the Living Waters of God, Jesus Christ and bring forth much fruit for the Kingdom of God.
