How should a christian be treated when he/she subccumbs(gives in) to sin and is discovered?

The situation which involved the Ambassador disturbed me greatly. I will not repeat what is rumored to have happened, I will however, share that I can only imagine the pain that his family is experiencing. Why was it necessary to embarass him or his family? What happened to the church that forgives and counsels one to until repentance is reached? What happened to the love that we as a church were instructed to display one for another?

What bothered me was how his "bothers" publicly embarrassed him. If they were really his brothers, I feel they would have been there to hold him down in his time of great need. Where is the love. After David had put Bathsheba's husband on the front line. Nathan delt with him privately. David did a big one..but God was setting the example for how things should go. The members of the church are "suppose" to embrace you and not embarrass you. Cause we all need each other to hold ourselves accountable to the word of GOD. Because we are some hypocritical. We teach that GOD is love and that we serve a good of love but where is the love in putting your brother on blast before the whole world.; ▶ Reply to This

We are to be the nurses, orderlies, and doctors. Using the gifts of the spirit to encourage, build up, and instruct those that are in need of help. We are to cast out devils from them that are being oppressed of the devil and restore them that have been damaged by the world.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Kelly Smith on October 31, 2009 at 1:23am: I think that we shouldn't show a person who has given into sin any hatred and shouldn't gossip about them, but instead show them a loving, caring attitude. we as Christians shouldn't run the person away from church but just be there for them. Then eventually they will repent because not only God loves but the people of the church loves them and they will still feel welcome and that along will make them get their selves together.; ▶ Reply to This
