To briefly summarize it, he states that when it comes to being married vs. single one should not necessarily be viewed as superior to the other. It's all about what God's plan for us is in any particular season of life. As singles we can enjoy a more intimate relationship with Him and we are more available to be used throughout our Christian as well as our secular communities. Whether we provide a shoulder to cry on, babysitting for our married friends, or hitting the streets to fulfill the great commission. As married couples we have different responsibilities; namely to model the relationship that our Father has with the church and raise children up in His knowledge. Both conditions require a lot of dedication and hard work and neither are necessarily meant to be lifelong affairs.
Having said that, to be honest, I'm not sure about this article. I can't fathom making that type of decision. My first thought was. "Wow, something must be wrong with these women. Something must have happened to them in their childhood." I immediately felt ashamed of thinking like that afterwards. I have no way of knowing what God has called them to do, but I should think that if He has called these women to a single life that He would have given some type of mission or some form of life's work for the kingdom. I seriously doubt that He has called these women to seclude themselves in this type of community just for the sake of promoting a life of singleness. You can be single and living for the Lord without being part of a community of people just like you. Besides, God says He wants us to take His word out into the world (Mark 16:15). Evidence of God's word going out is lacking in this article, so personally I'd be leery about joining such a community. It almost sounds like a cult to me.
If I didn’t know any better I’d say that Metta World Peace is the great philosophizer of the Los Angeles Lakers. He has his moments when Ron Artest comes breaking through – or better yet elbowing through – yet he knows exactly who he is and knows exactly what he is capable of as a human being and basketball player.
Here it is brothers and sisters. Lecrae‘s mixtape Church Clothes, available for free download.
